Deepfakes Got a Body Upgrade and Now They Bleed
Explore the wild world of AI, from synthetic heartbeats to robot dogs that can scale walls.

Hey Friends,
Do you ever look at something and think ‘I’m not sure if this is real, but it’s definitely impressive’? That was me this week, staring at AI-generated Coachella footage so convincing it made me second-guess my own Instagram feed.
We’re officially entering the “heartbeat deepfake” era. These new videos are high-res and they come with synthetic pulses to mimic blood flow. The very thing that used to separate real from fake? They’re faking that now too.
Meanwhile, in China, robot dogs are doing the robot equivalent of CrossFit. One called the Lynx M20 scaled rocks, dropped from cars, and climbed walls like it had a mission from the future. You know those apocalyptic city scenes in sci-fi movies? This feels like the prequel.
I also checked out an AI forensics tool that’s basically an MRI for failed models. When a neural net messes up, say, crashes a car or gives you bad data, this system lets researchers go inside its decision-making path like a black-box flight recorder. That’s AI psychiatry, folks.
And for your weekly dose of delightful horror, imagine a child drawing a duck with four legs and a dragon’s tail. Then imagine AI brings that to life in full cinematic realism. I laughed, I winced, I worried for the owl.
Lastly, we now know that Google is experimenting with embedding ads directly into AI chatbot responses. That’s not the dystopia I ordered, but here we are. The line between helpful and salesy is getting very blurry.
In summary? AI has the keys and is driving us somewhere we can’t pronounce. See you in the uncanny valley.

Warmly,
Dylan Curious
